MOTORCYCLES’ ICONIC MAGAZINE HOT BIKE IS SET TO HAVE ITS PAGES COME TO LIFE WITH THOUSANDS OF BIKES READY TO RIDE TO FIVE CITIES IN FIVE DAYS: SEPTEMBER 9–13.
South Dakota’s City of Mitchell Will Host Day #2 of the GEICO Motorcycle HOT BIKE Tour powered by Victory Motorcycle, Friday, September 11.
(Mitchell, South Dakota) The pages of HOT BIKE magazine are set to come to life this summer in Mitchell, South Dakota on Thursday, September 10. The national motorcycle enthusiast magazine has chosen Mitchell to be the second stop on The GEICO Motorcycle Hot Bike Tour™ powered by Victory as it hits the road on a five-day, 1,000-mile journey beginning Wednesday, September 9 through Sunday, September 13, 2015.
The ride, which is in its third year, will merge motorcycle enthusiasts and industry leaders to celebrate the open road as the pages of Hot Bike magazine come to life with bike shows, music, food, vendors, and bike rides from city to city. This remarkable ride will be the ultimate steel-horse cavalry of motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the nation to sightsee, explore, and show off their creations as they stop along the tour. Returning to this year’s event will be the popular Hot Bike’s Invitational Bike Build-Off that features top builders from around the country. The builders not only build the world’s best custom bikes, but they will also have to prove their bikes can ride as good as they look on the tour’s 1,000-plus miles.
The 2015 tour will begin the journey in Spirit Lake, Iowa with a Victory Motorcycle Factory Tour and Kickoff, and wind its way September 9 to September 13 to Mitchell, South Dakota; Rapid City, South Dakota; Sheridan, Wyoming; and end with a grand finale stop in Billings, Montana. Thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts are expected to converge during each stop for a special one-night display and entertainment as they travel across the country.
Mitchell is a great site location to host the Hot Bike Tour™ located in the state ranked number one per capita in motorcycle ownership in the United States. “This city is very rich in tradition, has beautiful landscapes, and offers unique opportunities,” Hot Bike Editor-in-Chief Jeff Holt said. “I know our riders are looking forward to a tour of the world’s only Corn Palace, as well as other attractions, including a unique experience to tour local builder and top pro-builder Brain Klock’s headquarters, Klock Werks.” Mitchell Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Katie Knutson adds, “Mitchell is looking forward to welcoming the riders to our downtown and showcasing our unique specialty shops, museums, beautiful lake shores and pride of 15,000 people who believe in hard work, growth, community and family.”
All makes and models of bikes will be allowed to participate. Throughout the tour, motorcycle owners will be able to pick up and take off from any city following fellow motorcyclists to the final destination. Participants can join the tour for one day or as many days as they can. Spectators are free. More information can be found at hotbikeweb.com/tour.
